Welcome to my blog.

In January 2016 I found myself in a position where I was required to contribute on a regular basis to the local newspaper in a series of question and answer-style mini-articles, with my specialty being Cyber Security. This started off as a single campaign for 10 weeks, and was part of a marketing exercise for the company I was working for at the time. It was received quite well and I was asked to do more, even continuing through to another job with another company.

So.. fast forward a year I’ve now got a collection over over 35 articles, I’ve been published in a few local business publications in the Channel Islands, and I’ve been interviewed for both BBC Television and Radio on issues around Cyber Security about how individuals, businesses and governments are affected by Cyber-Crime.

I’ve owned this domain for a little while now and it was always my intention to do something “bloggy” with it – but until recently I didn’t have any ideas for a website nor any content to put on it. To explain the “Security Through Maturity” bit I’m referring to the journey that any organisation goes through to improve their security posture from one level of “maturity” to the next, similar in nature to the CMMI model.

It seems these days that it is impossible to get by without being required to either Like, Subscribe or Share, so I decided a little self-promotion was in order. Rather than have what I had written simply collect dust I thought it best to get the content out there. I apologise for the brevity of many of the posts, there was a constraint of 200 words for 8/10 articles in the newspaper. Now that this blog exists I will be able to post more in-depth discussions, I will also possibly go back and pad-out a few here and there. Hopefully the feedback I receive will give me a steer of some sort. 🙂

That’s it in a nut-shell, no doubt I’ll refresh this “About” page at some point in the future, but for now it’s a good starting point.

Thanks for your time.
